The official stupid statement thread

i jus wanna know how hard it is to jus go out for a highschool sports team? i mean to me it came as simple as signing up for classes.

LPD--this kid self-diagnosed himself with whatever problem he thinks he's having...social anxiety disorder I believe he called it. My g/f's has a psych degree and is in grad school right now, and I had her research it for ishts and giggles----THERE'S NO SUCH DIAGNOSIS recognized in psychology. I've spoke to him via PM's about this, and he told me that one day, he saw a commercial about a pill (probably Zoloft or something) that was an anti-depressant that just so happened to describe how he was feeling (on that particular day, IMO), and ever since then, he's called his problem social anxiety disorder--this is what happens when you have a hypochondriac that is too smart for their own good. Add on to this that he saw a commercial that said there is a pill that would help his problem--has he seeked professional help, either therapy or medicinal or both for this? The answer is NO. If someone isn't willing to help themselves...I can't feel sorry for them or accept their excuses.

Chubz needs a crutch and uses this "disorder" as one. I'm not telling you anything I haven't expressed to him as my opinion of his situation. Those are the cold hard facts of it. I've actually tried to help him via PM anytime he's needed it--just someone to talk to and someone to help him rationalize what's happening to him w/o automatically claiming SAD as the blame. I'm not totally cold hearted when it comes to this--I hate to see this dude suffering unwittingly to something that doesn't exist and is all in his head b/c he heard it in a commercial.

NOTE--that earlier post I made on this stupid statement thread was due to an argument myself and Chubz had a little while ago, and after that we had a series of PM's that mostly spoke on what is above.

The kid is smart no doubt. But at the same time. If you talk to him. Anyone will have to admit there is something lacking.
He may be diagnosing himself but with what he has told me i at first thought he was a druggie, then maybe just really messed up.
He seems to really have no idea of right and wrong in some sense of the word.
Like i said not taking up for him. Basically trying to understand if this kid is really messed up or playing a game on here.
And using his so called psych illness as a crutch.
One thing i will add. And i know it because i have been there, you have to watch how you handle the younger kids on here. Some are messed up or in bad situations. And believe it or not. Spent a few hrs talking to some that are well known on here out of some bad situations
I think Unchained and several others can tell you the same thing.
Some people are not as ready for life as others and all of it's problems. One reason you have kids like Chubz. Split homes, enlarged families, not in the social group etc.
Got to watch how you handle them and what you say. Believe me some don't know how far or how close some of these kids are to doing some of the things they ask questions about.
I myself can be one cold uncarrying SOB on here myself with adults, but when it comes to the kids. I watch what i say and how i say it. And i always listen. You never know guys. Always err with caution when dealing with some of the kids on here.

Check my idea to follow post. I think it proves exactly what people have problems with on here. I think you and most other seasoned posters would agree with. You dont go posting on every topic, especially ones you do not know about. He is 17 at most and talks as if he was 17 when teams like Appy of 97 played. Thats almost 10 years ago, he was studying the habits of Travis Turner as a 10 year old?

That is what im talking about. Not sure if it's a game he's playing or he may be actually have some problems. Kind of odd to see someone just post like that. And the fasination stuff.
One reason i shy away from trying to say to much. Notice how he was Knight67 buddy then all of a sudden turns on him?
Heck i may disagree with someone but that don't change what i think of them.
Like i said at times. I think it's a game and other times i wonder if something isn't wrong.

OK , I'll fess up- my train of thought wrecked a long time ago. That is why I didn't have too much trouble figuring out the guys in the movies were being paid to turn the Miller can toward us or the Winston pack, or that the research was in place 30 years ago to tell what they got busted for 5 years ago or the WCCO ins company didn't want to file paper claims for our retirees, and were screwing our old folks, something that really set me off- in a suit and tie meeting. Now to chubz, the guy is being played , just like ALL this generation- EVERYBODY needs a pill. And not the old one but the new one, the one the patent ran out one can be made by going to the patent office(some hormones for the ladies are made with ...ughhh, horse urine, this one still costs, cause the generic companies can't figure out what to feed the horse, to make the stuff work right [img]/LDPforum/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif[/img]) and getting the formula, so the companies must keep you needing the latest or they can't recover the cost. He just watches the TV like everybody else. The drug companies must sell the products,. the doctors aren't as gullible as they used to be so the companies sell straight to you and me via the TV. Just like the new car that I want but don't really need , or the ' big Mac attack" I still have sometimes. Drug companies have a limited time to recover R&D fees, approval time takes a big chunk, so getting the thing sold while it costs a lot is important.

The kid .... hes ... I dont know, I dont even both to read his post. I dont understand why some people post on EVERY single topic, they get like 30 posts a day. I dont post unless I have something to say, not just to be saying something.

Working all the freaking time man, I been pulling 6 days a week, no time to get on here ...

is there anyway we can start voting newbies off this forum if they do not post a decent thread within a month? 99% of all the newbies are so biased you can't even argue w/them.
